How to deal with cyber bullying

Cyber bullying can seem like a never ending torment, especially when there are many people involved. But there are steps you can take, and people you can talk to in order to make it stop

who is behind it, and why they may have targeted you. Make sure you keep the evidence, as without proof, it will be hard to make a complaint.

Unless you report cyber bullying to an adult, it is very unlikely to stop, talk to a teacher or parent about what you have experienced. Threatening phone calls or messages may be an illegal offence that the police can help with.

Ways to prevent cyber bullying:

  • Dont respond and get into arguments online

  • Block the bullies so they cannot contact you

  • Increase your privacy on social media accounts

  • protect your identity e.g. email, phone number

  • NEVER share any sexual image or video (of yourself or others) to anyone online
